Work at Height
Working in confined spaces

Safety training day: working at height and confined spaces.

Julie Tremblay

Trainer
(Full day)

Description

Safety training has two essential components: working at height and working in confined spaces. Working at height covers and identifies the risks associated with falls and falling objects, focusing on regulations and preventive measures to keep workers safe.

Confined-space training covers and identifies the specific hazards associated with confined spaces, such as hazardous atmospheres and restricted access, while emphasizing the importance of preventive measures and the roles and responsibilities of the various parties involved. These training courses are designed for workers exposed to these risks, helping them to optimize their safety in the workplace.

Training 8h00-12h00

Work at Height

Working at heights adds considerable risks to workers when performing their tasks. The risk of falling from heights or falling objects can result in serious injury or even death. Fall protection is therefore essential to ensure workers' health and safety. Appropriate preventive measures must be put in place to ensure the best possible protection.

Target audience

The training is aimed primarily at workers who are involved in some way in work at height.

Objectives

  • Recognizing risks and hazards
  • Know the regulations in force
  • How to use a ladder or stepladder safely
  • How to use scaffolding safely
  • Know the different collective and individual protection methods

Training 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Working in confined spaces

Working in confined spaces exposes workers to great risks due to the hazardous atmosphere and restricted space. Difficult access and lack of ventilation can lead to serious health and safety problems, and even death. That's why it's so important to assess the risks and put in place the appropriate measures to protect workers. It is therefore essential that everyone involved understands and respects the measures and procedures in place, and has the required knowledge before venturing into a confined space.

Target audience

The training is aimed at workers who are directly or indirectly involved in work in confined spaces, whether they are entrants, supervisors or work permit issuers.

Objectives

  • Know what an enclosed space is
  • Know the regulations in force
  • Recognizing risks, symptoms and hazards
  • Know the various preventive measures to be implemented
  • Know the roles and responsibilities of the various players
  • Knowing the purpose and composition of a confined-space entry permit
